An AI receptionist that answers every call to your roofing company

A homeowner with water coming through the ceiling doesn’t leave a voicemail. They hang up and call the next roofer. The AI Front Desk picks up on the first ring, finds out what’s wrong, verifies the address, and texts you the lead before they’ve put the phone down.

Included in Business with 300 answered minutes a month. Available once the plan is paid, not during the trial.

What a call sounds like

Not a phone tree. A conversation.

One question at a time, a real reaction to what the caller said, and never “I don’t have the schedule.” When it doesn’t know something, it says the office will have the answer ready when they call, and flags it for you.

  • Confirms the name against caller ID
  • Reads the address back with the city
  • Asks the one follow-up that matters
  • Confirms the best number to reach them
  • Recaps everything once before goodbye
Thanks for calling Master's Roofing, this is Jacqueline. What can I help you with today?
Hey, the cap flew off my chimney in the storm last night. Can somebody come look at it?
Oh no, that's a rough way to start the day. Let's get someone out. Can I get your name?
Steele.
Thanks, Steele. And the address of the house?
9222 Wheatland Drive.
Got it. That's 9222 Wheatland Drive in Germantown, right? Is any water getting inside?
Not yet. How soon can someone come?
I bet we can get someone out very soon. Let me have the office call you to confirm the exact day and time. Is this the best number to reach you?
Yeah, this is my cell.
Perfect. So that's Steele at 9222 Wheatland in Germantown, chimney cap off from last night's storm, and this number. Anything else I can help with?
What it does

Built for the phone in a roofing office

Not every caller is a new prospect, and not every address is real. The front desk was written around the calls a roofing company actually gets.

Answers on the first ring

A warm, natural voice with noise cancellation and sub-second replies. It greets returning customers by name.

Works out who's calling

New project, existing job, insurance claim, a bill, or a vendor. Each gets handled the right way, not the new-customer script.

Verifies the address

Geocodes what the caller says, asks for the zip when a street alone isn't enough, and checks it's inside your service area.

Qualifies the job

One follow-up per kind of call, in your words. Is water coming in right now? When was the storm? How old is the roof?

Transfers what can't wait

Emergencies and anyone asking for a person ring your mobile. No answer brings the caller back to the agent.

Texts you a graded lead

Name, verified address, problem, best number, and a quality grade that says what was checked. Recording and transcript in your dashboard.

Set up in seven screens

  1. 1What kind of company you are, and where leads should go
  2. 2Where the office is, and how far you travel
  3. 3What you do, in your words
  4. 4The one question to ask for each kind of call
  5. 5A name and a voice for the assistant
  6. 6A local number (forward your existing line to it, or not)
  7. 7Review, and it's answering

What beta means

It answers real calls today. It also improves weekly, because we read transcripts and fix what a call got wrong: a name misheard, a question asked twice, an address that needed a zip. You’ll see new capabilities land often, and we want to hear about the call that didn’t go right.

Costs you can see

Answered minutes are capped per month and shown on your dashboard. A number that rings more than five times a day, or a burst of calls, goes to your phone or voicemail instead of the agent. Every call runs at most ten minutes. There is no surprise bill.

Questions roofers ask

What is an AI front desk?

A virtual receptionist that answers your business phone with a natural voice and a real conversation, not a menu. It finds out who is calling and why, collects and verifies what the office needs, hands emergencies to a person, and sends the lead to you the moment the call ends.

How is it different from an answering service?

An answering service takes a message. The AI Front Desk verifies the caller's address against the map and your service area, asks the follow-up that matters for that kind of job, confirms the callback number, reads the details back, and grades the lead on what was checked. It also knows your services and hours in your own words, and it costs a fixed amount a month rather than per minute of a person's time.

Will callers know it's AI?

It sounds like a warm, unhurried receptionist, and it is honest: if a caller asks, it says it is the company's virtual assistant and that a person follows up on every call. In beta we read transcripts to keep improving how it talks.

What happens in an emergency?

Water coming in right now, storm damage happening now, or a caller who asks for a person: the agent transfers the call to your mobile straight away. If you don't pick up, the caller comes back to the agent, which takes their details and promises a call back within the hour.

What does it cost?

It's the AI Employee plan: $98 a month per AI employee ($74 a month billed annually), and each AI employee is one front desk with its own local number and 300 answered minutes a month. The plan includes everything in Business. There's no free trial, because a live phone line costs real money per minute, so it's paid from day one and live the same minute. Already on Business? It's the same price, and the switch is prorated.

Can I keep my existing number?

Yes. Forward your existing line to the front desk number and nothing changes for callers. Or give the new number a job of its own: a storm line, a number for one ad campaign, a second office.

Which trades does it work for?

Roofing first, and it is just as comfortable with exteriors, gutters, solar, heating and air, plumbing, electrical, restoration and general contracting. Setup asks what kind of company you are and adjusts what it says, what it asks, and what counts as an emergency.

Does it work with my CRM?

Every caller is saved as a customer in Rooftops AI. Connect JobNimbus, AccuLynx or a webhook and each lead is created there too, with the summary and transcript as a note.
